King of Jerusalem • Conquest of Canaan
Adonizedek was the king of Jerusalem during the time of Joshua's conquest of Canaan. After the Gibeonites made peace with Israel, he formed a coalition of Amorite kings to attack Gibeon. Joshua marched overnight to defend the city and defeated the coalition in a decisive battle where the sun stood still.
