Thaddaeus

Apostle of Jesus • Life of Jesus

Thaddaeus was one of Jesus' twelve apostles in Matthew and Mark. Luke's apostolic list instead names Judas son of James in the corresponding position, and John records a Judas who was not Iscariot speaking with Jesus at the Last Supper. The relationship among these names has traditionally been understood as referring to the same apostle, though the Gospel naming varies.
