High Priest at Nob • United Kingdom
Ahimelech was the priest at Nob who helped David when he fled from King Saul. He provided David with consecrated bread and the sword of Goliath. Saul later accused him of aiding David and ordered the priests of Nob killed. Ahimelech and many of the priests were slaughtered by Doeg the Edomite, though his son Abiathar escaped and joined David.
