Father of Shaphan • Kingdom of Judah
Azaliah was the father of Shaphan, the royal scribe who served King Josiah during the discovery of the Book of the Law in the temple. Though little is recorded about Azaliah himself, his family became influential during Judah’s final decades before the Babylonian exile.
