Royal Scribe of King Josiah • Kingdom of Judah
Shaphan served as the royal scribe during the reign of King Josiah. When the Book of the Law was discovered in the temple during repairs, Shaphan read it before the king, which helped spark Josiah’s major religious reforms in Judah.
