Kinsman-redeemer of Ruth • Judges
A wealthy landowner in Bethlehem during the time of the Judges. Boaz showed kindness to Ruth and later acted as her kinsman-redeemer, marrying her and preserving the family line of Elimelech. Through their son Obed, Boaz became the grandfather of Jesse and the great-grandfather of King David.
