Grandfather of King David • Judges
The son of Boaz and Ruth and the father of Jesse. His birth restored the family line of Elimelech through the kinsman-redeemer marriage between Boaz and Ruth. Obed became the grandfather of King David and part of the Messianic lineage recorded in both Old and New Testament genealogies.
