Temanite friend of Job • Wisdom Literature
Eliphaz the Temanite was one of Job’s three friends who came to comfort him during his suffering. He argued that suffering was tied to wrongdoing and urged Job to accept divine discipline, but his counsel failed to rightly represent God’s purposes in Job’s situation.
