Tetrarch of Galilee • Life of Jesus
Herod Antipas was a son of Herod the Great and tetrarch of Galilee. John the Baptist condemned his relationship with Herodias, leading to John's imprisonment and eventual execution. Herod later heard reports about Jesus, and Luke records that Pilate sent Jesus to Herod during the Passion because Jesus was a Galilean.
