Servant of Jesus Christ and Brother of James • Early Church
Jude identified himself as a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James. He wrote urgently to believers because false teachers had entered the Christian community, calling the faithful to contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. He is traditionally identified with Judas, a brother of Jesus named in the Gospels, though Jude himself emphasizes his relationship to James.
