Christian Brother and Associate of Paul • Early Church
Onesimus was a man from Colossae closely connected with Philemon who became a beloved Christian brother and useful associate of Paul. Paul appealed to Philemon to receive Onesimus no longer merely as a bondservant but as a beloved brother. Paul also identified Onesimus as a faithful and beloved brother when sending him to Colossae with Tychicus.
