Mother of Jesus • Life of Jesus
Mary was the mother of Jesus and wife of Joseph. The angel Gabriel announced that she would conceive Jesus by the Holy Spirit. She gave birth to Him in Bethlehem, raised Him with Joseph, appears during His ministry, stood near the cross, and is remembered by the Gospels as the woman through whom the Son of God entered the world.
