Synagogue Leader • Life of Jesus
Jairus was a synagogue leader who pleaded with Jesus to save his dying daughter. During the journey to his home, word arrived that she had died, but Jesus continued and raised her. Matthew recounts the same episode without naming the ruler, while Mark and Luke identify him as Jairus.
