Simon Peter

Apostle of Jesus • Life of Jesus

Simon Peter was the brother of Andrew and one of Jesus' twelve apostles. A fisherman from Galilee, he became one of Jesus' most prominent disciples. Peter walked on the water toward Jesus, confessed Him as the Messiah, witnessed the Transfiguration, denied Him three times during the Passion, encountered the risen Lord, and was personally commissioned by Jesus to care for His flock.
